2. ಲೋಫರ್ ಪದವು ಅದರ ಮೂಲವನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಿ ಪದ ‘ಲಫಾಂಗ್’ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ, ಇದರರ್ಥ ‘ಒಂದು ಕಾಲು’.

4. ಲೋಫರ್ ಭಾರತದ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಒಂದು ಸಣ್ಣ ಪಟ್ಟಣವಾಗಿದೆ. ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ತನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಕೃತಿಕ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಸರುವಾಸಿಯಾಗಿದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಸಮೀಪವಿರುವ ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ಲೋಫರ್ ಕೋಟೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. 1650 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಳದಿಯ ರಾಜನಿಂದ ಕೋಟೆಯನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಕೋಟೆಯು ಈಗ ಪಾಳುಬಿದ್ದಿದೆ, ಆದರೆ ಇದು ಇನ್ನೂ ಜನಪ್ರಿಯ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿ ಆಕರ್ಷಣೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
5. ಲೋಫರ್ ಮಹಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರದ ಸಿಂಧುದುರ್ಗ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಒಂದು ಸಣ್ಣ ಹಳ್ಳಿ. ಈ ಗ್ರಾಮವು ಕನ್ನಡ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಜನರ ಗಣನೀಯ ಜನಸಂಖ್ಯೆಗೆ ನೆಲೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಲೋಫರ್ ಎಂದರೆ ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇತುವೆ ಎಂದರ್ಥ. ಕುಂಡಲಿಕಾ ನದಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾದ ಸೇತುವೆಯಿಂದ ಗ್ರಾಮಕ್ಕೆ ಈ ಹೆಸರು ಬಂದಿದೆ. ಈ ಸೇತುವೆಯು ಲೋಫರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಕಂದಲ್ಗಾಂವ್ ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಕೊಂಡಿಯಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಿತು.
